Wet Season

The 3rd quarter of the year almost always brings rains and flooding to farmers.  This picture was taken in barrio Talo-ao, Buenavista, Agusan Del Norte.  As you can see whatever palay has been planted on the field has now disappeared.  Too much of a good thing really.  The rains may be considered a boon to farmers, but if the rains go on and on, this thing happens.

One of the things that I really enjoy when I ride along ricefields is the presence of these white herons.  They're plentiful in areas planted with rice.  Unfortunately according to my riding buddy, some people get a kick out of shooting them.  Totally not cool I think.
