Hainanese Deli.. Whaat?

I was riding one of the blue ones.

Yesterday was almost panic day.  I just got this electric bill in my Manila apartment and I was already scheduled for disconnection!  Argh.  I had to haul my ass off to Meralco which was a long ways from the apartment.  I thought why not take the tricycle?  Yep even Metro Manila has tricycles.  Though these guys operate on the smaller streets where they're not such an inconvenience. Hehehe.  It was an experience though.  Not that I haven't tried one before but with the way these guys rob you in broad daylight.  I was charged P70 for that ride to Meralco.  Riding a cab would have cost me less.  But you know, experience, she's a bitch of a teacher man.

Hiatus

I've been off my bike trails this past couple of weeks.  And with the way things are going, looks like I'll be off them bike trails for a couple weeks more.  Truth is I'm stuck here in Manila trying to look good to the bosses so I can continue working in the province.  It's difficult because I rarely get to go out.  Not because I can't, but because I don't want to.  I've lived in Manila long enough to know that commuting will take up at least 50% of my time when I go out.  Pretty expensive too!

Cheap Mountain Bikes In CARAGA

Before, one could say that cheap mountain bikes is an oxymoron.  There are no cheap mountain bikes.  But with the influx of surplus bikes in the country, one can actually buy a cheap mountain bike these days.  The quality of these cheap mountain bikes however, well let's just say you get what you pay for.

When I started getting interested in mountain bikes, I first bought a surplus mountain bike which was supposedly from Japan.  Two hours after I started using it, the pedals fell off.  The following day, both tires were flat.  I had to go to the local bike shop and have the interiors vulcanized.  The vulcanizer, after removing the inner tubes said, I can't vulcanize this, you'll be back here in no time.  I suggest you buy one.  So I did.  Two days after, the handle bars got undone.  Then the chain got busted.  Then it was the saddle's turn.

It was a series of unfortunate events.  Like I said, you get what you pay for.  I certainly did.
